About

The Olive Training and Consultancy was established by Yasmin Rio Glover. It specialises in supporting small charities, voluntary organisations, and social enterprises.

From my own experience working in-house for small charities, I know first-hand how challenging it can be to try to get everything done whilst wearing multiple ‘hats’. Often, it is necessary for people to fulfil multiple roles in small organisations, but this can lead to additional challenges and pressures when trying to balance development projects with the day-to-day.

I work with organisations to find and embed realistic, proportionate solutions. I don’t try to apply large-scale or corporate strategies to small organisations, or work beyond the resource and capacity available.

Through a flexible and tailored consultancy offer, I aim to build capacity in organisations, whether through supporting new or existing teams, offering a fresh perspective, or by providing an extra pair of hands. I also offer a range of standard and bespoke training options to help you to ensure all members of your team are well-supported and equipped for their roles.

The Olive is proud to be a founding member of The Small Charity Friendly Collective, an informal collective of small charity specialists who have come together to provide dedicated and trusted support to small charities, and commit to a shared set of small charity friendly standards.

Simple can be powerful. The simple olive can be transformed into delicious food, skin and healthcare products, and a source of light. With the right interventions, its potential is almost limitless.

Supporting you to grow your potential through bespoke interventions
The Olive Training and Consultancy provides tailored support to enable small organisations to achieve their potential, however limited their resources. Combining the headspace and objectivity to help get those 'always on the agenda, never at the top' development projects off the ground, with simple, attainable strategies for maintaining the outcomes, The Olive can support your organisation to evolve from where you are, to where you want to be.

The name offers a fresh analogy for the company's belief in maximising potential, while giving a little nod to the roots of the organisation.
